SERIOUS SKIN SOLUTIONS: FIND THE BEST ACNE SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

Breakout prone skin is uncomfortable and embarrassing and you can become desperate trying to find an effective acne skin care product. As not all skin care products are right for all skin problems, It’s important to know which product will work best for you to begin clearing up your acne-plagued skin; the last thing you want to do is make an uncomfortable situation worse. If you are one of the lucky ones with healthy skin you can probably get by with a daily sunblock and moisturizer, however, if you happen to have acne you will need much more; a visit to your dermatologist can help save you time and money in finding the best acne skin care product for your particular skin type and situation. As with all the skin care and cosmetic products marketed today, there’s plenty of hype and hoopla, so scrutinize any recommended acne skin product carefully.

Different Brands Of Acne Skin Care Products
ProActiv is one of the better acne skin care treatments available on the market. It is a 3-step system that includes a renewing and exfoliating cleanser, revitalizing alcohol-free toner, and repairing lotion. The most active ingredient in ProActiv is prescription grade benzoyl peroxide; however ProActiv itself does not require a prescription.

Another form of acne treatment, which is only available by prescription, is Accutane. This is a strong medication, and is only suitable for those who suffer from severe, persistent acne. Taken internally, this medication works by inhibiting the skin’s sebaceous gland function of creating skin oil; unfortunately, it has FDA-listed possible side effects, among which are birth defects, dry and cracked lips, and liver dysfunction

Additionally, Retin-A is another acne fighting skin care product, which is applied topically. This product is used to treat acne, acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, skin discoloration, as well as a variety of other skin afflictions and works by changing the cellular metabolism of the skin's surface. There are also certain essential oils which can be great allies in the fight against acne. Used full strength or diluted with a carrier oil, essential oils can be applied topically to relieve mild to moderate acne. There are a few essential oils which are considered to work best in the treatment of acne, which are: Tea Tree Oil, Bergamot Oil, Clove Oil, Lavender Oil, and Rosewood Oil. Be aware that essential oils can be very strong and should not be confused with "milder" skin care choices. As with any skin self-treatment, if a rash or irritation develops you should discontinue use immediately and if it persists, you should see a doctor.

For treating your acne at home, benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, salicylic acid and sulfur are the most common over-the-counter medications commonly used; each works a little differently. These medications are available in many forms, such as gels, lotions, creams, soaps or pads. Treatment can take between 4 and 8 weeks before you’ll notice an improvement in your skin; also, over-the-counter acne medications can have side effects, such as skin irritation, burning or redness. If the acne product you’re using doesn't appear to be helping after a couple months, consult with your doctor or dermatologist.
